thread the first ring
spin one ring onto the socket, all the way down.
drop the socket in
feed the socket up through the bottom of the base and shade.
lock with the second
thread the second ring on top — base and shade become one piece. hand-tight is enough.
bulb in, plug in
screw in an led bulb, set the lamp where it lives, and switch it on.
